
Susan Kouguell is an award-winning writer and filmmaker. Her acclaimed solo films (2017 to the present) are screening internationally and are at the Filmmakers’ Coop.
Her six short films with Ernie Marrero (1980s) are in the Museum of Modern Art permanent collection and archives. Over 50 international festivals and museums include the Whitney Museum Biennial, Centre Pompidou Beaubourg Museum and Hirshhorn Museum.

A classically trained violist, Susan combines her passion for music and poetry in her choral texts for composers Ryan Homsey (BELIEVE ME -The New Haven Oratorio Choir premiere); Alvin Singleton, PRAISEMAKER (Cincinnati May Festival premiere) and Jonathan Elliott (BRAVER THAN THE OTHER (Poetry Project at Saint Marks, NYC premiere).
